Spectre Space Comics

Not to sound negative, but there are a few things that I regret about this book. Big regret number one was using hatching to create shading. It looks really messy to me now and the scanner didn’t pick up clean, crisp lines. The second thing is my hand drawn word balloons. Some people hand draw word balloons really well. Me, not so much.

My biggest regret, however, is the use of Comic Sans font (and using lowercase lettering.) I didn’t even realize it until I read Jason Brubaker’s, Seven Reasons to Avoid Comic Sans post. Aside from that blog post, I submitted my book to Comixology Submit. They, too, said that I should avoid comic sans. I since have found a good font on Blambot I like. I also am looking into creating my own font for future projects.
